Guest guest
If you're really mad about cheese, you may find it easier to cut it out entirely now, rather than be dissatisfied with the difference between dairy cheese and other cheeses. Actually this is probably the best way forward! I suffered off/on with gallstones for about 5 years - three years ago they got really bad and I became " vegan'ish " (still consumed eggs and honey) for a year as I couldnt eat any dairy milk, butter or cheese without excruiating pains Its funny but after a bit I didnt think about cheese at all - it was only when I had my gallbladder out that I went back to dairy ...and subsequently put on 11 stone ....then rediscovered my cravings for cheese! I guess it doesnt help having a husband and four children who love cheese, butter etc (I dont mind preparing meat/fish for them as I have no desire to eat it) - honestly, in the mornings I get out the soya spread for myself ....but when I smell the butter going on their toast my mouth waters - bit like making them all cheese sandwiches just then for their lunch! I guess its all about educating my taste buds - I love cooking, I love food and I'm struggling to really find vegan recepies that I actually eat and think " oooh that was yummy " :-( - I've been a diehard comfort eater all my life - I love creamy things, cakes, home-made bread & butter and I find it quite difficult finding food boring. No disrespect to any vegans - I just think that I must be doing something wrong!!! Anyway - I have a question. I use unsweetened soya milk in cooking, normal sweetened alpro in tea/cereal, but I've gone off coffee as soya doesn't taste quite right. Some friends gave me some dairy free coffeemate type stuff - I didnt examine the label at great depth so although it said vegetarian I dont know if it was vegan, but I wouldnt want to use it anyway as it was full of hydrogenated fat. On an american site I discovered that vegans were using almond milk or coconut milk in their coffee. Has anyone tried this??? What do you all use in your coffee???? So sorry for all the questions - I'll make this my last for a bit and stop emailing the groups so much ! Thanks in advance!
