Guest guest
Aquados gets Vegan Society stamp 10:51am, 20th August 2007 Aquados washing powder has been approved by the Vegan Society and received the EU Eco-label Rikke Bruntse-Dahl writes While Ecover recently had to wave good-bye to the Vegan Society trademark, eco-washing powder brand, Aquados Simply, has been welcomed into the Vegan Society. Both Aquados Simply Active, a biological washing powder and Aquados Simply Sensitive, a non-bio washing powder have been registered by the Vegan Society and can now carry the organisation’s trademark. The Vegan Society’s decision to register Aquados is based simply on the fact that Aquados does not test its products on animals and there are no animal ingredients in the products. A spokesperson from the Vegan Society says: ‘We want to show people that laundry products can meet our vegan criteria, be environmentally-friendly and perform excellently, and Aquados certainly meets all of these standards.’ The eco washing powder is manufactured in Yorkshire and is the first British laundry detergent to be awarded the EU Eco-label, which requires household goods, such as paint and cleaning products to meet stringent environmental criteria. Aquados Simply disperses to untraceability in 70 per cent less water than the EU Eco-label requires. Peter H For ideas on reducing your carbon footprint visit For Good this month. Guest guest
Hi Look at the website www.simplywashing.com then follow the 'simply products' tab. You can also do a postcode search under the 'simply community' tab and see if any of the supermarkets near you stock it. I was surprised how many said they did. It's £2.99 for 30 tabs of laundry powder, biological or non bio [15 washes] - Ecover was £4.89 for 32 tabs [16 washes] so Aquados is much cheaper £4.99 for 30 dishwasher tabs [30 washes] You can buy on line too. Delivery appears to be free, they also do offers, you get a free tub if you buy 4. I'm going to put in an order next week. Guest guest
Hi Jo, I did try their website's postcode search, but none of the shops they listed in my area as stocking them actually had any when I went in. And it looks like you have to buy a minimum of 4 tubs from their site (though you do then get a fifth tub free!), which isn't that handy just to test it out. Sigh. Guest guest
Well I just ordered 2 tubs of washing up and 2 tubs of dishwasher (+ 1 free dishwasher) - total was 15 quid or so - I'll let you know if it's any good in a week or two. Guest guest
Hi John Yeah I admit I wasn't sure if you could just buy one pot or have to buy the 4. Shame that the postcode search wasn't reliable. I'll try some of my local shops and see if they are stocking it. Failing that I will order some next week after my holiday. Where do you live? If I get some before you I'd be happy to send you some tablets so you can test a wash and see if it's for you. Guest guest
Just to add to this - the Aquados people are quite speedy and my laundry and dishwasher tubs all arrived today. Will report back when I've had a chance to do some testing. Guest guest
Hi John No problem at all, have made a note of your address and will let you know when they arrive. I'm away now for a week and was concerned if I ordered this week they would come while I was away. As they sound like they send out quickly and Paul has got his order already that was highly likely. I'll order as soon as I'm back and will let you know. Hopefully they will be as good as Ecover Jo , " John Davis " <mcxg46 wrote: > > Hi Jo, > > If you manage to get hold of some and could spare a couple of tablets, I'd > love to give them a try.
