Some time ago I bought (for a very lucky lady!) some vegan perfume from

some chap who did vegan equivalents of designer perfumes. Can't remember

who it was though... anyone have any idea?

Cheers,

James

Does anybody know which designer perfumes aren't vegan, as I nearly bought some

from Space NK the otherday?

Hi,

Hah. My wife tried to ask a salesperson about this in a store once, together

with whether or not it had been tested on animals. The woman paled, then

backed away saying that she wasn't allowed to answer that type of question!

If memory serves, in the end, after much searching on websites and emailing,

she managed to ascertain that the Stella McCartney perfumes are probably

vegan, but that's about as far as she got.

She tends to stick to Body Shop and Lush now...

You will be glad to know I am now trying really hard to quit my bad habit of

coca cola, not on health grounds because I do still drink other brands like

the Sainsbury's own (which tastes disgusting so I will end up drinking less

of it), but I know that Coke are really unethical, and I am trying to cut

down on the amount of cola drinks I drink in general as well as avoiding

that particular brand.

It might be difficult when eating out if the kids want coke but even if we

let them have some, I am determined to lead by example a bit more and have

something else myself.

I think we all have our temptations from unethical companies, mine is coca

cola and yours is maybe designer perfumes, so don't beat yourself up, and

anyway actually writing to the companies if you like these products is

important as it makes them aware of the demand for cruelty-free. I don't

really find them tempting for me at all because there are vegan perfumes

from Dolma and I think Dr Hadwen sell some too.

I think it's weird how there is nothing on the Stella perfume bottles as far

as I can see to indicate cruelty-free credentials, you would think Stella

herself would have insisted on this on the packaging as she is veggie like

her father and committed to no fur and leather. I would think hers would be

OK.
