Guest guest
Brace yourselves, everyone. According to Jay Rayner's Facebook status (no, he's not a " friend " ), " Jay is pimping himself. OFM vegan piece Sunday, followed by Dispatches, Channel 4, Monday at 8pm. Forget the quality; feel the width. " Anyone who read Jay Rayner's review of Saf ( " It's grim down Saf " , Observer, 8 June, <http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/food/story/0,,2283978,00.html>) will know he can be quite scathing about vegans and vegetarians -- although he did at least begin that review with the words, " I have a grudging respect for the vegan ethical position. " (You could tell there was a " but " coming, couldn't you?) Anyway, if Jay Rayner is writing a " vegan piece " in Sunday's Observer Food Monthly, I don't think we can expect much in the way of praise (or, as he himself suggests, quality). I'm rather hoping that it's part of a more balanced appraisal of veganism, or vegan food, but that might be wishful thinking on my part. In any case, I just thought I'd mention it. Guest guest
Well, at least I got a laugh out of the piece: " ...to produce the animals that make all the milk and eggs lots of boy baa lambs and chicks must be killed. " *blink* He drinks sheep's milk?? Gaya On 6/20/08, Emma W <redaction wrote: > > Brace yourselves, everyone.
