Guest guest
Hi all, A request for info, if anyone is in/knows Oxford at all? I'm going to an event in Christ Church, Oxford in a couple of weekends and there will be a couple of vegans there, but we're not opting for college meals because they sucked last year and it's too much (and too expensive!) to risk for four days. I know the Gardner's Arms is a veggie menu, but it's a bit of a walk from Christ Church. Does anyone know of places we can eat with more options than just chips? Thanks in advance! Guest guest
Yes, I'm from Oxford. For light lunches, definitely try the alpha bar in the covered market. It does amazing salad boxes. This is my favourite lunch on sunny days. There are also plenty of indian/chinese/lebanese restaurants that would be suitable . . . especially the pink giraffe for vegetarian chinese food . . . I've also had a good meal at Manos, a greek restaurant on Walton street. Check out http://the.earth.li/~kake/cgi-bin/openguides/vegan-oxford.cgi? Guest guest
On, and also - - G & Ds, opposite Christ Church, will do their greek salad with hummous or guacamole instead of feta. They also do good bagels. - Mortons (New Inn Hall street and Broad Street) does an excellent vegan baguette. - More of a walk away, in St Giles, Wok and Roll does a good set course lunch for under a fiver, with 2 courses and a drink. - My favourite restaurant is Bangkok House, on Hythe Bridge Street. Lunch is 5 pounds, but you'll have to ask about the fish sauce. Tanya , " gayalondiel99 " <gayalondiel wrote: > > Hi all, > > A request for info, if anyone is in/knows Oxford at all?
