Guest guest
You left out possibly the best brand, Fry's (hotdogs - frozen). Redwoods are good too and really should be in the poll. Please consider adding them, thanks. Lesley , wrote: > > > Enter your vote today! I was going to say I too was surprised that Fry's and Redwoods, both major brands, were hidden away under " Other " . Personally, for putting in sandwiches, I go with Linda McCartney. Not because they are the best. Certainly not the healthiest. But at £1 per box in Iceland they are definitely the cheapest. Fry's Braii ones are okay for bangers and mash, but a bit too 'meaty' with their uneven texture and much more expensive. With both them and McCartney's I can only eat them when wrapped in bread or covered in potato. While I do like Linda McCartney's sausage rolls, the Fry ones, though, are so clearly a regular Fry's sausage with pastry rolled around it and not nice at all. About the only ones I can eat as they are are the Redwoods Sage and Majoram ones. Which I also like to slice up and use as a topping when making pizza. But for me the best are from Taifun. I love their wieners, just a shame they are so expensive, and also the tofu grill sausages. The latter are totally bland but soak up flavours really well and so are fantastic for casseroling. Guest guest
/Chacun a son gout/, and all that - personally I find all Fry's products pretty disgusting. I've added some more choices to the poll. Anyone who had already voted will need to vote again. There's another sausage whose name escapes me - they come in a yellow/ brown box. Small chipolata-like things. Ring any bells ? Guest guest
Don't forget Vegetarian's Choice - by far my favourites, both for sausages and burgers... Guest guest
Hi, The Vegetarian's Choice ones come in a cardboard box without any other packaging. It is actually their burgers which I think are the better of their products, but the sausages aren't bad either. I don't think they are the same as the RealEat ones - aren't the RealEat ones the really squishy affairs that come in a plastic bag and fall apart on the barbeque?! Guest guest
RealEat Veggie Bangers are the ones in the green bag in the freezer cabinet (next to the RealEat Veggie Mince). They also do some other sausages in a green box which are not vegan. Vegetarian's Choice are the ones in a brown (?) box. seems to have been playing up today - I'll try again to update the poll. Guest guest
I went for Redwoods, but it was a close thing! I, too, really like the Fry's hotdogs. So quick and easy, even meaties like them, and great when you want junk food! Now, what's everyone's favourite vegan cheese...?!
