Just to put it in context, and so you know i'm not some corporate spammer, I do feel strongly that workshops like these should be allowed to be posted on vegan newsgroups. It's really hard to find vegan sex toys, most sex toy suppliers laugh when u ask if they have anything vegan, and those that you can find are usually of poor quality, and very expensive. not every vegan is into sex toys, but a lot of us are, and my definition of veganism extends to all animal products, not just food. would it be seen as inappropriate if it was a vegan shoe-making workshop? I think not. I do understand the issue with minors, but after initial discussion with the cafe, we changed the picture used to one which is not sexually explicit. It's someone wearing boxers & a harness, the image originally had a dildo, which has now been removed. This event is being held in a local not-for-profit cafe which operates as a workers' coop, and the cost of the event will go to cover materials, publicity and some travel and food expenses for the facilitator. Neither myself or the others organising the workshop will make any money out of it, we're doing it partly because we want to go to it, and partly because we think it's a good workshop to put on that a lot of people could benefit from. Like it or not, people have sex, and far more people than you think, of all genders and sexualities, use strap-ons. Again, I appreciate the mods putting this out, as some lists have been less accommodating, and i appreciate being able to have the debate on here too, ryxx Hi, Well, it made me smile. But I'm not entirely sure it was an appropriate email! However if there are any serious objections to posts such as this of an " adult " nature on the list then I'm happy to listen and re-evaluate. Guest guest
Hi Vegan Haggis - Well so far we have had only one complaint, from someone who was concerned about children who might read the post. That might be an issue on some lists, forums, etc, but seems to have an adult membership (and we ask people their age as part of the questionnaire that they fill in when they join the list). I think as a general guideline if you don't post anything too " explicit " in you posts to , then most people will not have a problem with them. Good luck with your workshop - it sounds fascinating.
