Eggheads (Tofuheads?)

We have been asked if we can assemble a vegan team for the Eggheads quiz on BBC2.

In Eggheads, the challenging team competes against general knowledge 'Goliaths' (past winners of Mastermind, Brain of Britain and other quizzes) for a cash prize.

If you are interested and can answer at least three of the following questions (WITHOUT CHEATING) and have a track record of winning pub quizzes, please email media:

1) Identify the author of the poetic extract "The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity."

2) To which London restaurant did Tony and Cherie Blair take Bill and Hillary Clinton in 1997?

3) Which stage musical featured the songs 'Electricity' and 'Expressing Yourself'?

4) In mythology the griffin has the head and wings of an eagle and the body of which other animal?

5) Which other planet in the solar system is closest in size to the earth?

6) Whose horse was called Bucephalus?

7) What is the name of the world’s highest waterfall and in which country is it?

grrr, it's the poem " slouching towards bethlehem " , i know that.....i say ts eliot....(looks it up)damn, keats....the whole thing is worth printing here:

The Second Coming (Slouching towards Bethlehem)

W.B Yeats

Turning and turning in the widening gyre

The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction, while the worst

Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;

Surely the Second Coming is at hand.

The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out

When a vast image out of Spritus Mundi

Troubles my sight: somewhere in the sands of the desert.

A shape with lion body and the head of a man,

A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,

Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it

Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.

The darkness drops again; but now I know

That twenty centuries of stony sleep

were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,

And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,

Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

We have been asked if we can assemble a vegan team for the Eggheads quiz on BBC2.

In Eggheads, the challenging team competes against general knowledge 'Goliaths' (past winners of Mastermind, Brain of Britain and other quizzes) for a cash prize.

If you are interested and can answer at least three of the following questions (WITHOUT CHEATING) and have a track record of winning pub quizzes, please email media (AT) vegansociety (DOT) com:

1) Identify the author of the poetic extract " The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity. "

7) What is the name of the world's highest waterfall and in which country is it?

A lot of performance is either being a show off, or an alter ego taking over from a usually shy type of person, sort of escapism....
