Guest guest
You tell that Rabbi he's a big fibber. *grin* Ok, maybe not. But he's wrong. It does *not* have to be a bone. The talmud says vegetarians can replace the shank bone with a roasted beet. I have also seen people use shank bones made of fimo :> but i'm pretty sure that wouldn't make it past the beit din in terms of " kosher " depending on what you're looking for. Hope that helps. Guest guest
True. An ORTHODOX rabbi told me about the roasted beet! He said it's in the book of Pesachim in the Talmud. -- Estreya ************************************************************** , " Sarah Tuttle " <sarallelagram@h...> wrote: > You tell that Rabbi he's a big fibber. > *grin* > Ok, maybe not. Guest guest
I just cut out a paper bone to put on the seder plate. I can't see how wrapping a real bone from an animal in foil makes it any less an unholy use of an animal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ from Maida.
