Talmud and the shank bone

You tell that Rabbi he's a big fibber.

Ok, maybe not. But he's wrong. It does *not* have to be a bone. The talmud

says vegetarians can replace the shank bone with a roasted beet. I have also

seen people use shank bones made of fimo :> but i'm pretty sure that

wouldn't make it past the beit din in terms of " kosher " depending on what

you're looking for. Hope that helps.

True. An ORTHODOX rabbi told me about the roasted beet! He said it's

in the book of Pesachim in the Talmud.
