Hi Doreen,

I noticed you are well informed about nutrition, juicing and food combining. Did you study or is this what you have been learning from your husband and his family?

LOL. All of the above. But what I know is a drop in the bucket

compared to those who really devote themselves to the study. Also,

I'm not a real stickler.

I'll mix sweet and sub-acid fruit (Oh, NO!). I'll eat melon with

other fruits (Oh, me! Oh, my!) but I'll eat the melon first.

I'll put some raisins in my rice pudding made with rice drink or in

my carrot cake.

But there are some things I won't do:

I'll *never* cook fresh fruit (except tomatoes very rarely).

I'll never eat canned fruit or drink canned juices.

I'll never mix carbs and proteins. Carbs and hard cheese is

*extremely* hard to digest.

There are some things I will always do if I goof up:

If I use tomato sauce once in awhile (tomato is a fruit, not a veg

and so gets very acidic when cooked, like every other fruit) I'll

always eat salad or drink veg juice, which are alkaline, to balance

by pH. This is a must.

If I eat protein I'll always eat salad with it.

I'll never eat fresh fruit with anything. I wait 1/2 hr. after

eating fresh fruit to eat anything else, and 4-6 hours after eating

anything else, properly combined, to eat fruit again. If a meal is

not properly combined one has to wait a min of 8 hrs. to eat fresh

fruit again - or the whole lot rots in the gut.

I'll never mix two proteins. The body can't handle it. The body is

designed to digest one protein at a time.

Those are the basics.

There are plenty of sites about proper food combining on line.

These two are good intros:

Also, read Harvey and Marilyn Diamond's books Fit for Life and Fit

for Life II. Work by Dr. Shelton, Harvey Diamond's teacher is on the

net.

Hi Doreen,

I have a very "dainty gut"; I lack a lot of enzymes it seems since I was a kid, with food allergies and intolerances. Some I out-grew, some got worst due to ignorance.

When I started to do with the list of things mentioned in your post, as I learned along the way, I noticed a big difference. I always thought I was getting the "stomach flu" year round; and almost got fired a couple of times due to missing days at work.

I am glad you bring up things in the group. We all need nutritional education along with great recipes to implement what we learn.

Sounds to me like you've got a very intelligent gut that doesn't

tolerate attempts to bamboozle it.

Learn as much as you can about proper food combining. The Natural

Hygiene Society has a wealth of information. Try eating this way for

three months. Tolerate the detox reactions. See how you feel in

three months.

Real cleansing doesn't begin, can't begin, until we cut out the milk

products. Homogenized, pasteurized milk is not human food. Even

calves don't drink it. They either drink their mother's milk, or

prefer a soy-based drink that farmers give them. Do cows drink milk?

Neither should we. It leaves a thick mucous lining in the intestine

that blocks the microvilli and prevents absorption of nutrients.

It should be clear that eating milk products with carbs is courting

gastric disaster. The body just can't deal with it. It's not

equipped to.

When you eliminate milk and it's products you'll get a bad case of

the trots as your body clears the mucous lining out of your gut,

together with the rot of undigested carbs and protiens that were

eaten together and only partially digested.

After that you should experience a new level of health.

Tip: When baking clabber the same amount of soy drink that you might

use buttermilk or milk with the juice of a lemon. You'll see the soy

drink curdle immediately when you put the lemon juice into it. The

clabbered soy milk holds the baked goods together instead of the

buttermilk *and* the eggs.
