You can also use leftover bread. 3/4 lb. challah, broken in pieces, soaked in hot water and drained. 1 cup sugar 4 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1/2 cup golden raisins 2 apples peeled and chopped. Lightly grease a 9 " x11 " baking dish and pour in mixture. Sprinkle a little sugar, cinnamon and nut mixture on top and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
