Look what I received! I suppose you all agree with my response and do

not want me to sell your IDs, right?

Shalom!

After reading your message, I am still not sure WHAT you want and WHY

I should impose your proposition to the members of my two groups?

Both groups are mailing lists, we do not advertise anything or anyone

nor do we permit any spam. Why should your moderators run my lists?

What are you selling, that you are so desperate in finding clients

that way?

I strongly doubt that any member in my groups needs to be re-assured

that " One reason is that when the world realizes that Israeli &

Jewish cuisine is so good, they might be a little bit more friendly.

A second reason is because if Jew's who see that keeping kosher is

easier feel that way, maybe they will do so. "

If any group moderator will send you his data protected member list,

I would rather doubt his integrity!

Sorry, Sir, find someone more stupid to enhance your business and do

not contact me again!

And...if anyone wishes to publish a recipe book, she or he will do

so...without your financial profits!

Proposition to merge kosher food lists.

Tue, 15 Jun 2004 15:47:50 -0000

Dear list owner

Firstly, let me congratulate you on the excellent job, that you are

doing of keeping the kosher cuisine group together. It is an

important cause, for several reasons. One reason is that when the

world realizes that Israeli & Jewish cuisine is so good, they might

be a little bit more friendly. A second reason is because if Jew's

who see that keeping kosher is easier feel that way, maybe they will

do so.

Secondly, out there on the web, on alone, there are

7 " generic " kosher / jewish / israeli food / cuisine lists. The total

user base is 2,519 as of today 15 June 2004 - at 13:15 GMT. If we

subtract an estimate of 200 that use most of the groups, that is

2,300 odd users. If all these groups were merged together, and

advertised with one e-mail to all the Israeli & Jewish society groups

worldwide, the user base would probably expand to 4,000 or more

within a few weeks. It would be more effective, yes harder to run and

moderate, but JANGLO with 3,566 users & ISRAEMPLOY with 4,290 users

manage to. JANGLO has 2 moderators. If all 7 food lists are merged,

then there will be at least 7 moderators, which will keep the job a

lot easier and definitely possible.

My proposition is this. All 7 groups, including yours, copy their

userlists and merge them into one. Moderation rules are set like in

JANGLO & ISRAEMPLOY, as free joining but moderated messages. I will

offer to host on my server the archives and recipes for free.

Moderators are the previous moderators of all 7 groups and list

owners. All current lists will have their group page as

saying " This group is now part of the new Jewish & Kosher

Cuisine Group " , members details will be kept on the groups, however

no e-mails will go through the group (this is in the event that any

group wishes to pull out later, they will still have their user list).

I am sure that some of the groups are " sponsored " by the group

owners, that have their own food companies of some sort. These would

have ads, rotating weekly at the bottom and top of every message.

Why am I doing this? What do I get out of this? First and formost, I

love food, especially cuisine, middle-eastern. I lived in Israel for

6yrs till recently and the only thing I miss is the food. If we raise

awareness as to how good kosher food is, I will get more recipes and

expand my knowledge of one of my favorite topics - food.

Additionally, I am getting into various computer projects, one of

which is web hosting & design (incl. search engine addition and

promotion), another is programming - mainly in the database field.

Their websites will soon be up at www.online-identity.net &

www.skwprogramming.com respectively. I would have an ad on the

website as a sponsor. My long term goal for this project is to

publish a free piece of software with 10's of thousands of recipes

from the lists. The software would be distributed freely, and

programmed by Sultan Kanou Willis Programming, hosted by Online

Identity Hosting & Design Services. It would be built at first in

English and Hebrew, maybe later in other languages.

Who knows? Maybe if we reach that far, we could publish a recipe

book. The sky isn't even the limit!

If you are interested please do not hesitate to e-mail me at

me, or ICQ 60914589, IM

jsklanwillis, MSN IM pickles.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Pickles - Jonathan.

The more I think about this, the angrier I get!

As you might have noticed, nobody can see the members' list (IDs and

emails). This is done in order to protect your privacy as good as one

can.

After all, who knows WHERE this information goes...

Anyway!

I banned him with two IDs and if he is still here, he'll take a leave

with his other IDs!

Gabriella, you are completely correct. I have no idea who this person is and I

am not interested in lists with meat recipes even if theyare kosher.

I am familiar with the janglo and israemploy lists. They are indeed good lists

but completely different in their purposes.
