Cilantro/culantro/Chinese Parsley/coriander is an acquired taste. My

family is Caucasian European (Sephardic) from Spain, so I didn't grow

up eating this aromatic herb. The first time I tried it, the taste

was a little bit soapy, but I grew to love the flavor it gave to

salsas and many other dishes. For those of you who wish to try it, do

not use it as a one to one substitute for parsley, as it has a much

stronger flavor and a different taste altogether. Add a few of the

leaves (not the stems), a little goes a long way, try it! Parsley

and Cilantro are easily distinguished in the grocery store, just take

a whiff of both, rub one of the leaves between two fingers and enjoy

the pungent aroma!

Enjoy!
