Guest guest
There we go! It is easy to hurt people and drive them away. It is easy to judge others for their beliefs and different opinions. How can we expect tolerance if we are not able to be tolerate ourselves? Does being an observant Jew give us the right to take a position to judge others? It was not the fact we were asked to spend real time with anyone, or sit down on her table. It was receiving the same mailing list with someone sharing not our faith. Am I supposed to evict everyone here who is not Jewish? Do you know that many postings in this group are by people who have a different faith, and yes, this topic is not to be discussed, but sometimes it happens and there is no reason to panic. And even risking that another 50 people leave the group, Rain is a very fine person and I feel bad that she left! I have non Jewish friends with whom I do or do not discuss topics concerning religion, because I tend to judge people from other things as well. Am I wrong to do so? Fine, I am wrong! I apologize if I do irritate some of you again, but as a human being I feel responsible for all human beings. I feel responsible as a Jewish woman to live like a Jewish woman, but that does not exclude me from this world, and accepting someone for what he is next to his religion is a part of sharing this planet. I don't know where to draw the lines in moderating a group and how to face challenges like that exactly for the reasons I mentioned. It might have been easier if Rain was a new member...but in this case, many factors played a role. Sorry! Lets assume this discussion is closed, the damage is done, five of the members who were in the group practically from the very beginning have left -so much for that!
