Guest guest
Hi Tricia. I found this recipe...not sure, how sweet the Challah will be, because I did not try it. Maybe you should try the dough and add some more sugar. Gabriella Sweet Challah Ingredients: 1 Cup Warm Water 2-1/4 tsp yeast (not rapid rise - but the regular jar kind) Scant 1/2 Cup Sugar Scant 1/2 Cup vegetable oil 2 to 3 tsp Salt 1 whole egg + 1 egg yolk 4 Cups flour Instructions: Set the machine on Sweet Dough. After the machine is done, let it the dough rise again in the machine. Punch it down, take it out, and put it into an oiled bowl and cover it. Let it sit for about an hour. Punch it down, and make braids.* This will make 2 med loafs or one large loaf. Put the Challah on greased cookie sheet(s), cover and let rise for an hour. Before baking, brush with a beaten egg mixed with a bit of water, sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds. Bake at 325 for 30-45 minutes, until golden brown. , tofulove@a... wrote: > Gabriella, > > I am trying to experiment with making my challahs sweeter. Guest guest
If you add more sugar to this recipe, there is a good chance the yeast will over-rise and the bread will fall as it bakes. May I suggest that if you want a sweeter challah, this recipe could be used and stevia powder could add the extra sweetness. Guest guest
Yes, you are right! I didn't think of that. Now, what is stevia powder?
