Guest guest
We have a houseguest who doesn't eat wheat or oats, which are in 99% of the breakfasts we eat around here, so I got up a while ago and put some brown rice on the stove with some water and a little half-and-half, brought it to a boil, and simmered about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Just now I added a chopped apple, some cinnamon, and a tiny touch of cloves, and now I will let it simmer some more until it's thick. If it thickens too much before she awakens, I'll keep adding liquid until she gets up. Mmmmm, it smells like rice pudding in here. serene -- " A conservative is someone who worships the views of dead liberals. It was a fun challenge, truth be told. serene -- " It is human nature to hate the man whom you have hurt. " Tacitus
Guest guest
Good choice to have used brown rice. Much of the white rice is enriched and sometimes the enriching is barley based so not good for people with intolerance to gluten or such. Thanks for sharing your idea for this special guest.
