Shalom;

I have a personal request that I pray you will do for me.

I am an avrekh kollel aged 61, wife 54. Pesach 2 years ago we were on

deaths edge due to 18 hours of carbon monoxide poisoning. 3 of our 5

boys were also exposed to it seriously, the other were OK because they

were in a separate part of the home with independent air supply. We were

taken to hospital by MADA (Magen David Adom)

the 1 flight of steps on stretchers, forcing us to climb the stairs

though we were dizzy nauseous weak etc & afraid to fall. They said

" we'll help you walk the stairs so you won't fall " . it was pure

torture!!!!!! Painful & afraid to fall. They insisted on taking the 2

unexposed - well boys too instead of leaving them with neighbors. 7

people in 2 regular ambulances. The MADA fellows refused to get a close

by local Doctor's " order " for evacuation " don't need it in case like

yours " . It was NOT a matter of rushing, because they wasted a lot of

time deciding who would be in which ambulance & almost changed

ambulances after loading one up. Therefore no place for me to lie down,

no real seat for me, I had to sit on the bench next to the chovesh

(paramedic), had to lean on him & the inner wall of the ambulance to

keep from falling, flopping about with every turn or bump, again

torture!!!!

 

We got billed for 8 ambulance rides!! 1st of all there were only 7 of

us. 2ndly, 2 were unnecessary. 3rdly because the MADA team refused to

get the OK of the doctor (who lives across the street from us) the

Kupath Hholim won't cover the bills. 3rdly the tortuous stair climb with

the high carboxyl content* in our blood left my wife & I with damage to

our legs!!! By the way we checked elsewhere, & discovered that making us

make that effort was NOT the correct treatment for anyone in our

condition. (* even after over an hour of breathing pure oxygen my blood

carboxyl count was about 25%)

 

Whenever I tried to call the MADA offices to talk to a manager the phone

clerk asked what about & refused after being told for what. I sent a fax

myself and instead of replying to me ... Now they have gotten a lawyer

after us with billing over 150% of the original inflated bills & threats

ribis & of attaching bank account etc etc.

 

Please help me by getting people to write, email, fax to MADA

headquarters/management, complaining about this terrible treatment of us

(include my name & ID 00511149-7), maybe even one saying that you/they

see no reason to donate to MADA if this is what they do to people.

 

If you know someone who has contact/protekzia there all the better.
