Guest guest
Hello foodies, What are your favourite dishes for pessach? You know the ones that without there is no 'real' pessach feeling? My favourites are definitely the matzo crunch, the salmon pate (my posting), and the fruit kugel. And JudyK's pecan cookies. So, I am just wondering (for fun) in case you feel bored and have nothing to do.. You can share the favourites INSTEAD OF CLEANING!!!! Happy cleaning. Eliane in Amsterdam, where the spring sun came out, and keeps me away from the shopping.. PS this is the mail I've sent to the jewishfood-list. Some of you/us might have read it already. Still it's fun and interesting to read how different taste we all have.

Guest guest
No!! It's matzoh brei with orange marmalade. lol That says Pesach. And coming a close second kremlachs, now they might have sugar sprinkled with them. I'm in a bit of a tizz this year. I live in England and there are no Jewish stores near me so I schlep to London/Golders Green to get my Pesach things. Well, the store I've been going to for the past 32 years was destroyed last year in a big fire and won't be opened until July! So I'm going to Shop Rite, here in New Jersey (I'm here celebrating my parents' 60th wedding anniversary)to get my things. My son moved out last year so it will just be me after the Seder so I figure 1 box of matzoh will do me because your matzoh boxes are much bigger than the English one. When I get home on Friday I'll hunt out my recipes and post them here. I have a great sunrise kugel. Carol , " Marty Oksenhorn " <moksenho wrote: > > Hands down favorite... Guest guest
Kremlachs are matzoh meal pancakes. Matzoh Meal Pancakes (kremlach) 2 eggs 1 level tsp salt 1 level tsp superfine sugar 2/3 cup of warm water 6 level tbsp fine matzoh meal Beat the eggs and 2 tablespoons of the water until thick. Gradually, add the meal and the sugar and enough additional water to make a thick batter that just drops from the spoon. Fry in oil 1/4 inch thick or a mixture of 1/4 cup butter and 1 tbsp of oil until golden and puffy. Turn and cook the other side. Serve hot off the pan plain or with cinnamon sugar. Serves 4 Really nice. Can be eaten with sprinkled sugar on top or with applesauce. Goes great with roasts or chicken. , robin koloms <rkoloms wrote: > > What is kremlach? >
Guest guest
*banging head on table* Sorry. I am so used to giving out the recipe on other boards that I forgot that this a veggie one. Well, my son isn't a veggie and loves the kremlachs. I have them with a salad and not with roast or chicken. Sorry again.
