Guest guest
Last year I made for dessert a lemon sorbet served in frozen lemon cups this year I'm going for a Blueberry Banana Sorbet Blueberry and banana sorbet Serves 3-4 550g blueberries 150ml stock syrup 1 banana 1 tsp fresh lemon juice Wash the blueberries and put them in the blender with the other ingredients. Blend to a puree, then strain. Put the mix into a sealed container and put it in the freezer. After 1 -1 ½ hours, removed the container and beat the mix with either a fork or an electric whisk in order to make a uniform slush. Return the mixture to the freezer and repeat this process 2 more times at intervals of 1 -1 ½ hrs. After it has been beaten 3 times, return it to the freezer for a further hour or so. If not serving immediately then cover the top of the sorbet with greaseproof paper. When you want it, take it out about 45 minutes before you want to eat it. Stock syrup Makes about 600g 500g caster sugar Juice of 1 lemon 500ml water Dissolve the sugar in the water by slowly bringing it to the boil, then add the lemon juice. Turn down the heat and allow it to simmer for 5 minutes until it becomes slightly viscous. Strain, cool, and store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 1 month. My mock chopped liver (love it) 5 hard boiled eggs 1 cup walnuts 2 medium sized onions saute the onions until they are nice and brown. chop th ewlanuts in a food processor. add the still hot eggs and onions, including the oil that they were sauted in.
