Guest guest
old vegan grouch number 4,355,789 .... but why do they put lactose in their homeopathic pills? List of non-dairy h-rememdies seems thin on the ground. I had a really bad bike accident and went looking for the stuff to take when you have accidents and it all seemed to have lactose? Am I wrong or are there other brands? You would have thought that they realised a large proportion of their customer base might be upset by that. I gave up and went back home to hurt ... Guest guest
It is annoying how most homeopathic brands use sucrose - we have a kit from Helios in which the tablets are sucrose - there are two animal derived remedies in it though...never perfect you can buy/see it here http://www.thinknatural.com/ThinkNatural/Product.jhtml?CATID=100 & PRODID=12424 & affiliate=homeopathyhome I'm not sure if they do the single remedies in sucrose. The other way to buy them is in drop form which is usually vegan. It certainly seems very thoughtless and unhelpful, not only to vegans but also to the lactose intolerant, and such people are not all that unusual. Have you written to the company to ask these questions? What do they say? > List of non-dairy h-rememdies seems thin on the ground. > > I had a really bad bike accident and went looking for the stuff to take > when you have accidents and it all seemed to have lactose? I believe that many of the homoeopathic remedies in liquid form are vegan, I think they are alcohol-based, but you mostly have to send for them. I think from either Weleda or Ainsworths, or either. Arnica for helping with the healing process is certainly a plant product, but beware of bee products (apis) and I think they use squid ink in one homoeopathic remedy (can't remember the Latin name). I also know one person who gets the individual sucrose based remedies though her homoeopath, but I don't know how easy they are to obtain otherwise. > You would have thought that they realised a large proportion of their > customer base might be upset by that. The names can be helpful in telling you what they do, for instance boneset, if you broke a bone. But perhaps you could consult a local practitioner, I only used to work in a herbalists shop a few years ago. I have had no formal training.
