Guest guest
Hi! My name is Rob, or Monkey, as my colleagues call me for some reason... I'm 28, live in Peterborough, and been vegan for almost 4 years, before which I was veggie for 3. I don't actually know one other vegan person, and haven't knowingly met one (apart from Vegan Festival a couple of years ago) , so I think this group is a great idea. I love the idea of getting together for meals..never really had a chance to look at a menu and know I could order any of it! I'm hoping to get to the meal on Saturday, if its not too late. What kind of place is it? Well, I'll leave it at that for now, hopefully see some of you soon! Take care, Monkey.

You don't know any other vegans? How terrible for you! It's a great start that you are able to meet up with some of this group in London, but maybe you would also like to find some like- minded people in your local area, to either socialise or campaign with? Here are some possibly useful contacts in Peterborough, no actual Vegan Society contact, but some of these might be vegan, at least most will be most likely vegetarian. See this page in the animal contacts directory, if you are interested in not being an isolated vegan in your town. http://www.veggies.org.uk/acd/europe/uk/england/countyc.htm#Camb Does anyone else here remember a Robb (yes I'm sure it was spelt like that) Johnson (similar name to Monkey) who used to play AR benefit gigs, maybe all over the place but certainly in the Reading area? I think he did an AR version of " Old Macdonald had a Farm " , or something like that. I think he was sort of folksy, with a guitar, rather than loud and punky. Anyone remember?
