Guest guest
Is the woman that works for BUAV on this list [ sorry, I have a brain like a sieve for names ]? Could she mail me? BTW, nah, mochi isnt breakfast cereal. It is a little chewy square of mashed up chewy glutinous rice that the Japanese eat at this time of year becuase it is warming and strengthening. A bit of a delicacy. Normally they grill them as I said and then wrap them with a strip of nori seaweed and then dip them in a " dashi " sauce made of rice vinegar and shoyu [ good soya sauce ]. There are some major vegan foods in the Orient. Little luxuries that make life worth eating. In general I think we have a lot to gain from Eastern diets as they have not been hanging off cow's udders for thousands of years as Westerner have. They have remembered what a basic " diet " is which is something that has been completely forgotten over the last 100 or even 50 years in the West. The Japanese have stuck to the original quality where unfortunatley the Chinese have commercialised and junked it. But it is said the best vegan food comes out of the Taiwanese Buddhist communities.
