Guest guest
Hi all! Just thought I would mention that I was all ready to scoff a box of After Eight Mints, when I luckily looked at the ingredients list and low and behold it had 'butterfat' listed...hmmm the last box I had about a month ago certainly did not have that ingredient written on it. So I guess the new batch is not 'vegan friendly'...typical this product has gone down the same road as nearly every Linda McCartney product and many others...just for a so called 'improved flavour'. Guest guest
I know..this is sad - I have removed After Eights from our chocolate page listing But do not despair - both the Co-op and Safeway make their own versions which are cheaper and pretty good too. Hope you all had a good Christmas and that the new year is a good one for us all, Lucy dave watson <mrbigvegan-network <vegan-network >28 December 2000 13:40Re: The choccie has been taketh away! yeah...looks like lot`s of us are suckers for after eights...I checked our box...no mention of butter fat....but the word invertase made me scramble for my dictionary...an enzyme present in the intestines of animals....nice....how sick do I feel now!! Guest guest
no more after eights (sniff, sniff), but hey at least its one less thing to make us fat and give us heart disease!! ...although I think woolworths ones might be ok too though! how did we all get sucked in? - you'd think one of us would've noticed the invertase!! vegan-network , " Lucy Burnett " <lucyb@u...> wrote: > I know..this is sad - I have removed After Eights from our chocolate page listing > But do not despair - both the Co-op and Safeway make their own versions which are cheaper and pretty good too. > Hope you all had a good Christmas and that the new year is a good one for us all, > > Lucy > > > dave watson <mrbig@e...> > vegan-network <vegan-network > > 28 December 2000 13:40 > Re: The choccie has been taketh away! > > > yeah...looks like lot`s of us are suckers for after eights...I checked our box...no mention of butter fat....but the word invertase made me scramble for my dictionary...an enzyme present in the intestines of animals....nice....how sick do I feel now!! > > > > > eGroups Sponsor > > >
Guest guest
What up fellow vegans? What have you guys heard about the food color 'red 40'? I have been avoiding it because I heard it wasn't vegan but I don't know for sure and can't seem to find out. The book " animal ingredients A-Z " doesn't list it. What do you all think? Later, Flavor Go Vegan! Go Straight Edge! If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. -------- Why is College Club the largest and fastest growing college student site?
