Guest guest
hayley, Country Life serves great food, practically if not entirely vegan. i had my first " icecream pancake " in 20 year or something there this summer. just like being a kid again. so how come you did not invite us all down to meet you there Hayley? the 7th adventist are a mainly american group strangely split between white and black churches, not that the are racist but it just seems to happen that way. the white americans are squeaky clean and the uk churches are mainly black. they are vegetarian/pro-vegan by faith which is amazing. we have a lot to be grateful for them as many medical reviews of vegetarians over generations have been done on them in the US. they popularised the " back to eden " book that is a bible to herbs/wholefoods and vegetarianism and converted many people. and they cook good. i think that they are pretty much the only christians who really walk there talk and that their religion to the logical conclusion that includes stewardship of the planet and animal life. the founder was an american woman who had visions of the great white teacher having been in america, i think. christ teaching the native americans or something. may sound a little whacko but it produced a great end. they have a big organics farm outside of london. well, indian veg is still on sometime for a cheap pig out at 3.75 until they wheel barrow you out. heathers in south london, blah blah blah in chiswick. there is a rudolf steiner place in hammersmith in a nice artist studio next to a church, cant remember what it is called, where do you want to go and when? you are our leader. john
Guest guest
sorry I didn't invite the rest of you down!! I had a cunning plan to get my friend (meat-eater) to take me to a vegan restaurant for my birthday to educate her a little!! so, who wants to go out for a meal? Lesley, are you still planning on having the meal in Harrow? I'd quite like to try that place and it saves me organising anything!! otherwise, if people let me know if and when they can come and I'll sort something out. vegan-network , John Allan <jallan@f...> wrote: > hayley, > > Country Life serves great food, practically if not entirely vegan. i had > my first " icecream pancake " in 20 year or something there this summer. > just like being a kid again. > > so how come you did not invite us all down to meet you there Hayley? > > the 7th adventist are a mainly american group strangely split between > white and black churches, not that the are racist but it just seems to > happen that way. the white americans are squeaky clean and the uk > churches are mainly black. > > they are vegetarian/pro-vegan by faith which is amazing. we have a lot to > be grateful for them as many medical reviews of vegetarians over > generations have been done on them in the US. they popularised the " back > to eden " book that is a bible to herbs/wholefoods and vegetarianism and > converted many people. > > and they cook good. > > i think that they are pretty much the only christians who really walk > there talk and that their religion to the logical conclusion that > includes stewardship of the planet and animal life. the founder was an > american woman who had visions of the great white teacher having been in > america, i think. christ teaching the native americans or something. may > sound a little whacko but it produced a great end. > > they have a big organics farm outside of london. > > well, indian veg is still on sometime for a cheap pig out at 3.75 until > they wheel barrow you out. heathers in south london, blah blah blah in > chiswick. there is a rudolf steiner place in hammersmith in a nice artist > studio next to a church, cant remember what it is called, where do you > want to go and when? > > you are our leader. > > john
