Guest guest
keybookritter, I have not been a vegetarian as long as you but I have had the same problems. I initially lost some weight then nothing for several months. I think carbs is a big issue here and it was with me. First I would get a food diary and write down everything you are eating are you eating lots of carbs? You might not think so but check the portion size. I was amazed at how little rice and pasta counted for a serving! Once I started controlling portion size the weight started coming off. Now on to exercise, I just lost over 30lbs by watching portion sizes and walking! Of course that is not overnight:) Here is a great place for walking http://walking.about.com/mbody.htm I did the 10 week walk program which gives you a walking schedule for every day. Before I even started this I just took 30 minute walks during lunch for two weeks not caring how fast or how far I was going just getting my body ready for the program. As for weight lifting I think doing some pushups and situps are great for getting your body ready for more serious weight lifting. Good luck with your weight loss! mike Sunday, May 11, 2003 1:08 AM Digest Number
Guest guest
Michael, Thanks Michael, that was really informative. Think I'll start a food diary of my own and check those carbs out. The results of which are bound to shock me since I live off rice and cereal on busy days. Might be the problem eh? The site you sent should give a good head start for my walking program. Need a little cardio to kick the ole metabolism into high gear. As for the weightlifting, that's something else I've done since a very young age. My father was a bodybuilder and got me addicted to the sport. And yes, I'm a aware that muscle weighs more than fat, but as a woman I know I got too much storage lying around these hips. Tee-hee! All and all, thank you so much for the advice Michael. I appreciate it! Be seeing you around! Laters! Keybookritter The New Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo.
