Hi all,

Hope you are all well. Anyone fancy doing a vegan meal somewhere in

central London on either 10th or 17th March (saturday)? Can anyone

suggest any nice restaurants to go to? We could maybe go to that

place John recommended afterwards for a drink or something...anyway,

let me know if you want to come and I'll sort something out.

take care,

Hayley

P.S. I can't remember who is was who was doing the raw food thing

(I'm trying it for two weeks to see how I get on but have a feeling

it will end after two weeks as I love food so much!!), but you might

want to try contacting the FRESH network (Fruitarian & Raw Energy

Support and Help) for some advice/information. I'll find the url and

stick it in the 'Links' section on the egroup site.

well good luck with it Jack - i hope you know what you are doing. I, however,

like to cook some food, especially potatoes, that wonderfully compex starch

food. Chips, sauted potatoes, mash, french fries, jacket spuds, croquettes,

etc, etc. Plus aubergines, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, sweet potatoes,

pasta, rice, buckwheat, millet, oats, etc, etc. I honestly believe you are

cutting out more than you should. It all sounds very extremist to me. There

are some that believe you can get by just by eating fruit. I wouldn't put it

past someone saying that they get by just by breathing the right way, getting

their energy from the very air itself! Be gentle with yourself and beware of

isolating yourself completely from shared meals with friends and family. We

can be vegan and still eat a healthy balance of vegetables, grains, fruit,

pulses and processed stuff. We can eat all of this stuff and it will make us

healthy and will help us to create compassionate lives together, free

(hopefully) from harming human and animal life. Like I said, be gentle with

yourself and your body and best of luck with changing to the vegan way of

life.

It's me and I've done 10 days now of all raw food, no animal or dairy

etc. I have never stopped animal foods or milk before so it's hard and

you do crave cooked food A LOT.

I found these:

The desire for cooked food is not caused by hunger. Eating cooked food is a

physio-chemical

addiction which has nothing to do with the normal requirements of the cells. The

battle to

overcome cooked-food addiction must be won to achieve lasting health, peace, and

prosperity on

Earth.

Also:

Cravings can be a major problem during the transition to a raw/living foods

diet, and may take

more than a year to dissipate. After you have been on such a diet long enough,

the cravings will

usually dissipate.

Oh, I did do a 2 day fast so I haven't eaten cooked food for 12 days.

I do think that uncooked food is 100% more healthy and better

for you and that cooked food is just a major addiction, try it for 2

weeks and see how much you crave it.

Just gotto get used to eating raw that's all:-)
