Guest guest
Hi, My name is Joana and I'm portuguese. I doubt anyone in here shares my nationality but if someone does please say so. I don't know any other vegans but I do try and seduce people into this lifestyle. Sometimes, my husband and I, we organize yummy vegan meals for our friends. The result is always the same: agressive questions about our choices and intolerance. After switching from vegetarianism to veganism, my life changed dramatically. I feel that people's attitude towards animals bothers me a lot more and very honestly I think I might loose some friends because of this. I think I've become intolerant. I have a question for everyone: What do you think about horseriding? It used to be my main sport but I've started to question it on ethical terms. Is it really fair to submit a horse to our pleasure. Do I have the right to do so? What is your opinion?

I counted 38 different racetracks in several countries but mostly here in the US. When I (finally) realized how badly these animals were treated I stopped. Of course, yours is a more humane type of treatment; but, I suspect were horses not tampered with by humans and left to be in the wild with their own ilk they would be that much more gleeful. This is truly a personal question. Regarding the first part of your note: Please do not abandon any of your personal friendships over a new lifestyle, they need you more than ever now. Perhaps not invite them to dinner so often. I find that attack on vegetarianism, veganism, raw foodism, etc., is really a call for help; it is a spiritual message unknown to the attacker. Maybe it is easier to smile, take them by the hand and show them (when practical) a better way...The one we think we know. Less judgement, more understanding. Are we not looking at yesterday's mirror? Take these thoughts to the deepest part of you. The answers are waiting... Love Bob Blomberg NYC Hi, My name is Joana and I'm portuguese.
