Blowing up anything is sheer idiocy!

I don't know how you'd see it, but I personally wouldn't be too happy about

it if some meat eating activists blew up a vegetarian cookery school I know

of, a WWF office or vegan restaurant.

Destruction might scare people, but it certainly won't make anyone view the

'activists' as rational or make them more willing to come around to their

side of the argument.

Concessions are ok, I guess, but conviction quite another. How do you really

convince people of the right way when it is littered with shards of glass

and anti-social behaviour??

Also, many people keep from becoming vegetarian or vegan because of the

association with a whole bunch of crazies, the same way over in Europe a boy

will certainly think twice about shaving his head due to the neo-nazi

connotation of that(this being a more extreme example, but the principle is

the same).

There is enough uneccessary violence and destruction already...why add to

it?

Regards,

Katt

People who dont become veggie because they dont want to be associated with

animal rights activities are just using it as an excuse to make us feel

worse.Dont fall for it .they never intended becoming veggie, anyway.I've

always said I will never show any interest in sport until womens sport gets

greater coverage{im a womens libber and it gives me a chance to make a

point].The real reason is I find it boring! I support Animal rights and

some people will go further than I would. That's life. I've just had a

thought , I'll give up sex because some people are rapists!{real reason-I

havent got a man,but we'll keep quiet about that!!!]. Sad Angie!

Hi there,

I agree fully with you Katt, I believe veganism and vegetarism are about

being more friendly to the world - of course most of all to give the animals

the right they deserve, but also to make the world a better place! And

violence certainly DOESN'T do that!

Since I became a vegan, the first thing most many people ask me when I tell

them I'm a vegan is: " Do you blow up trucks and McDonalds restaurants? "

That is the only thing many people know about vegans, they don't really know

what it's all about and it's hard to convince people the right reasons why

we become vegans when their first impressions that it's about violence and

blowing up things are so strong (sorry if my English is a bit hard to

understand!).

That's my point of view anyway, and I'm sorry to say to you activists that I

do believe you destoy more for vegans than you do good! But don't get me

wrong, I do understand your frustration, I'm as frustrated as you about this

meat-eating and cruel world and I don't think me believing that love is all

you need to change it - not violence, makes me less a vegan!!!!

Thanks!!!

LOVE

Sandra

Yeah, they're good ones. A better one is " what do you eat " . I normally

answer it by:

1. I eat hedges and grass etc.

2. What do you eat? 4 Types of meat, interesting variety you have going

there.

3. nothing that has lived (Sentiently) or the produce from it.

4. Not the sh!t society tells me to, maaaaaaah (sheep noise).

the list just goes on and on and on and on and on............

People don't normally ask me again. I'm not that sharp to everyone, just

the ones who critisise me. I'm always ready to show someone the path.

Well, I am from Sweden but I live in UK now! I think there are more vegans

here and to be honest it's in Sweden I got all those stupid questions. There

are a big group of vegan activists in Sweden and they are the only vegans

most of the Swedeish people know about because they are in the news quite a

lot if you know what I mean!!

I believe we should not criticise each other, for using different methods to

fight animal abusers. We all do our best our own way.Animal abusers criticise

us we dont need to do it to ourselves.I may not agree with what you ve said

but as you are a vegan you are on my side and the side of the animals and

together or in our different ways we will weaken the enemy.

Well said!

Interesting note: Those of us involved in AR here in Tulsa, OK avoid using

the word " PETA " on signs and literature as much as possible because of all

of the negative publicity PETA receives. You can actually hear the minds of

the public lock up tight when they see or hear " PETA " ! :-)

Thanks,

I am despite my negativity about violent vegans on all vegans side as well.

I agree that we all try our best to fight for what we believe and I guess

that is the important thing!

Even though I think it's wrong with violence I do respect all people for how

they are and believe - we all see things in different ways and we all have

right to say how we feel about things!

Over all I think we vegans are a good team all together -

A WINNING TEAM who will eventually convince the world that we are right!!!!!
