Guest guest
My advice for you is to explore all the Vegan foods like (Soy milk, Soy cheese, Better Than Cream Cheese). Toffuti, So Good, Scheese (Isle of bute 100's of cheeses!) are the companies to look out for, and the list goes on! Have a real good look at you HFS and H & B's. There's so much there. Soy yogurts called Yo-Fo at HFS and Sainsburys. I really missed cheese Pizza and almost lapsed while with some friends. It's more because of the social thing than the food it self, I came to realise. So I made them all a Vegan pizza and everyone loved it. Get the un-cheese book by Joanne Stepaniak is excellent. I hope you're writing this down! Oh and Swedish Glace is an excellent Vegan ice cream (form H & B)! There is no difference in taste. Guest guest
Ive been using soya products for quiet a while anyway, and cheese realy a big deal to me, the only cheesy type product thats gonna tempt me is dairylea - sad isnt it... The major problem ive found so far is eating out, i live in the north east now (formerly of brighton - where its easy to be vegan etc.) but in the north east, i was the only vegetarian that i knew, never mind vegan, so its realy hard to find specialist shops and restaurants that arnt terribly expensive. I would welcome suggestions from any one who knows the north east well. Lou vegan-network, " Mccartney, Rowan (R.N.) Guest guest
I don't know the North-East but there is a group called North-East Vegans on email at gmf Lesley > Ive been using soya products for quiet a while anyway, and cheese > realy a big deal to me, the only cheesy type product thats gonna > tempt me is dairylea - sad isnt it... > > The major problem ive found so far is eating out, i live in the north > east now (formerly of brighton - where its easy to be vegan etc.) but > in the north east, i was the only vegetarian that i knew, never mind > vegan, so its realy hard to find specialist shops and restaurants > that arnt terribly expensive. > > I would welcome suggestions from any one who knows the north east > well. > > Lou
Guest guest
What part of the north-east? There are a few vegans in Newcastle... if you can find them. I've recently made the opposite move, from Newcastle to Brighton (via Lancaster). Someone should really open a wholefood cafe in Newcastle. We have a 2 yr old kid and we plan to send him to the brighton Steiner school, and another due October.. any help, or estate agent contacts would be appreciated. btw I seen the sainsburys vegan easter eggs yesterday...I feel obliged to buy to support the move, even though the MayoGold ones are much better (and kinder). And I can`t say much for the packaging...I`m sure kids would really be attracted ot that....not! byee MrBig _______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Guest guest
The property market in Brighton is HORRible. The population is expanding with loads of London commuters. More reasonable rents/prices in the satellite towns like Peacehaven, if you can live with the inconvenience. Where's the Steiner school? Guest guest
Louise, I am very much enjoying Brighton. Loads of exciting stuff going on, and vegans everywhere. But it's so expensive to live here, I don't know if I'll be able to stay. Do you ever get up to Newcastle? I'll be there for a few days in April. Want to meet up? Michael. --- louise vicente <buyakacrew wrote: > Hartlepool unfortunately, what a shit hole i live in > its shocking, im aiming > to get back to brighton for the summer, i was there > for 2 years and its a > great place, beleive me you will have a good time. > > > >Heyman Michael <Michael_heyman > >vegan-network > >vegan-network > >Re: Re: ohhhhhh new member > (UK) > >Tue, 13 Mar 2001 09:37:32 +0000 (GMT) > > > > > >What part of the north-east? Guest guest
try looking at www.thisisbrightonandhove.co.uk and go to the marketplace, this is basically the local paper, the evening argus on the net, theres loads of jobs and accomodation ads. Brighton accommodation can be pretty expensive, when i first moved there, we had a pretty basic 4 bed house and we paid £270.00 per month each. but if you look around you can get somewhere much nicer and cheaper. Also good one to try is friday-ad.co.uk especially for accomodation and they have a few jobs listed.
