Guest guest
Hello all, I've been Vegan for 6 months or so and veggie 2 years before that. I'm currently on an exclusion diet as well, but that's another story. I was born in the good'ol little town of Kalgoorlie in W.Australia and grew up in Perth. I moved here when I was 15 (with my family, an avid meatie, as you'd expect) and went veggie on 4th of Feb 1999 (GF's birthday). At the moment I live in Brentwood, cause I'm on my year in industry before I go back to Brunel Uni and finish my degree in 2 years. After that I'll be writing to ya all from Australia! Guest guest
Dominic, I was a student in Brum in late 80's early 90's and found there were some vegan friendly cafes/shops in Moseley. Also a restaurant in Selly Oak - actually visited it a couple of years ago with my SO - we were the only people there! Not sure if any of them are still around, but glad to hear the Warehouse Cafe is still there - there used to be a shop below...the FOE there also run an egroup - look for BFOEcampaigners. Guest guest
I'm 33 and from Gloucester but now live in Romford (Essex) [past 7 years but I hate it!], since I work in London (freelance computer programmer). I guess I look really " normal " ! Been vegan for about 14 years and veggie for a year or so before that. I'm trying to get more involved in vegan/green issues - so you might catch me at a London Vegans event in the near future. Also hang around Fresh'n'Wild in Picadilly when I can't be bothered going home to cook! Oh yeah and Spitalfields on a Sunday. Lived in Brum for 6 years while a student (BSc Physics, MSc Computer Science), and more recently in Glasgow (very vegan friendly!)for about a year on and off (my girlfriend still lives there, so I'm often travelling up there). Recent book: No Logo by Naomi Klein - makes me want to go out and campaign against everything! Highly recommended. You can find out more about me from www.robsheppard.net...(like all my websites - a work in progress . --- Rob

Guest guest
Hi Rowan, Well I don't go out that much in Romford - but a few weeks ago I went out with a vegan ex-colleague who was working in the area. We went to Giorgio's (Italian in South st) - I wasn't hopeful, but when I started to sheepishly ask the waitress whether there were certain things in the food, she said " oh - are you vegan? We can make vegan versions of whatever you like " (well, not the meat dishes obviously!). I was kind of stunned, and had quite a nice meal. Not particularly cheap though. I've also been to Tropical Emas (lots of veggie dishes) and a couple of other unremarkable restaurants where they've made up a dish, or adapted the veggie one. I've also heard of a veggie place in Hornchurch that I keep meaning to visit (but I don't own a car, so it always seems easier to get the train into central london). I think they advertised in the Vegan mag - hope they're still going! Cheers, Rob vegan-network, " Mccartney, Rowan (R.N.) " <rmccar14@v...> wrote: > Hey, I live up the road from you in Brentwood. Guest guest
Hello, I'm Michael, I'm 25 and live in Brighton. Vegan 4 years, previously lived in Newcastle and Lancaster. I'm doing an MA in 'social and political thought' and I'm interested in environmental and animal rights 'issues'. There seem to be a lot of 'issues' in Brighton... I'm also into vegan-organic gardening although not able to do any at the moment because all the allotments are miles away and let's be realistic I would never really have bothered. I know quite a lot of vegans in Brighton and I'd like to meet more, in other parts of the world aswell. Currently reading Walter Benjamin. __________ Get your free @.co.uk address at http://mail..co.uk or your free @.ie address at http://mail..ie

I live in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and I am currently attending Edinboro University in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. I am in my third year majoring in Environmental Studies/Geology.
