Hello Joana. The EU used to have animals classified as agricultural goods. The Treaty of Amsterdam (about 1997 I think) reclassified them as " sentient beings " . Is this likely to have an impact on Portuguese law? Paul -- Paul Philbrow pp http://www.dcs.gla.ac.uk/~pp

Guest guest
Hello there. We are a vegan family of three (me, Dave, Jade - 17 months,) thinking of moving to Spain or Portugal in the next couple of years, to live in a sustainable community somewhere. Can you recommend and contacts of (dis) organisatins who work with co-operatives or environmental or animal rights issues in Portugal / Spain? Is it difficult being vegan in Portugal? We currently live on a boat in England - space is not a problem with our dog - so long as he has lots of walk he likes the comfort of a fairly small space.
