Guest guest
I have only been on this list for a little under two weeks, but already I have learnt so much. You guys are great! I wish I had become a vegan before rather than being a vegetarian for nine years - loving cheese, eggs, honey - you name it! I find the honey and eggs debate fascinating. If I did miss these products when I became a vegan, then I certainly don't now!!! BTW thanks to some great advice I am exercising quite a bit now and feel great. I find that I am maybe eating a bit more, but that's probably because I have been working up an appetite! Thanks everyone! ~~ Jane C ~~ - " john allan " <jallan " Re: Hypocrites, the selfish and vegetariens " <vegan-network > Sunday, April 22, 2001 1:18 AM honey is not vegan . > my 2 cents worth: > > honey is not vegan. > > it is worse than leather in the pecking order. > > yeah, my grandmother kept bees as well so i know what they do to them. > last i heard European Bees were so sick you could not export them > legally. they had all the diseases of the modern world: cancer, > arthritis, stress related immune failures; probably because of their > forced artificial diet of unrefined sugars. > > " the argument " related to free range eggs *is* the same. > > eggs are not vegetarian either. > > the whole thing came about because certain people were in certain > postions of power and influence a long time ago in the evolution *liked* > them. they did not want to listen to their conscience or stop. the > > they are both anachronisms of less enlightened times and if you were to > do a straw poll of vegans, honey could not come through. > > [ i couldn't count on western vegetarians to be enlightened at all ... > i'd rather a honest meat eater ] > > john > > >
