Can someone tell me why Laura doesn't eat yeast?

Dead yeast? Live yeast? Inactive yeast (as in nutritional yeast).

Also, why is nutritional yeast addictive? I could eat a whole can, but

didn't partially like it when I first tried it. Also the same goes for

Tempeh, is this considered a yeast? I didn't like that to start with but

now, yum.

As tempeh is " grown " from raw soybeans, is it being " cooked " enough. Or

does the bacteria break down the enzymes that make in indigestible

That's interesting, I find yeast-based pate (like Grano-Vita) very moorish,

I can't stop myself. Same thing I wonder?

hello Rowan

a non yeast diet is called an anti-candida diet cos that is what the yeast

in your gut is called. it is more common a diet than you would think.

this yeast is present in everyones gut but in some people the yeast

starts to grow too much and set off an auto immune reaction.

this causes many illnesses, minor to major.

i thought i had thrush (too much info for the men, sorry) for a year which

cleared up on the diet. it can be responsible for pmt fatigue insomnia

mood swings, the list is realy long. in the book i have which explains it

all there is a test to see if you have a problem with it, there is a

questionnair with a point system (points for problems). it said yeast

connected health problems are almost certainly present in women with

scores over 180 and i got 210. i had a lot of small irritating problems

like abdominal pain ect. that have now sorted themselves out.

i cant eat normal bread, mushrooms, vegi gravey, some of the sos mix

stuff, the nice vegan cheese or too much sugar or alcohol. no

fermented stuff. i havnt been doing to well lately cos i visited my

boyfriend whos vegan so i had to eat what he was eating. anti biotics

are bad for it cos they distroy beneficial organisms in the body that

keep the yeast in check and the pill is bad too cos it acts as an

immuno surpressant.

the book talks about how novelty refined foods and a modern bad diet

can cause schizophrenia which i have never heard of before!

also, i dont eat unions cos they give me the worst body odor.

very pleasant! sorry for being a bit blunt, i know many of you will not

want to hear about my ilnesses.

anybody else on restricted diets?

Laura ,I think its very important that we do talk about health issues I

learned a lot from what you sain I've never had mood swings but I've been

Vegan since I was 18. I had thrush recently from having anti biotics --not

nice --If I'd known alternative " cures I' wouldn't have used antibiotics .-
