Guest guest
hi! a bit about me for those that were interested a wee while ago! I'm a 27 y/o kiwi male, moved to London last December on my grand-mammy's ancestry. I work in computers in the city for a software co, but apart from that I guess I'm quite typical of the species 'veganus maximus'. As you know NZ is paradise on earth so I've developed a keen interest in outdoor activities such as snorkelling, tramping, climbing mountains, cycling and sailing etc.. I am always keen to socialise with veg*ns so anybody in London drop me a line if you'd like to hook up! I'm a newbie not just to this group but also veg*nism in general - I think 8-9 months ago I became veggie and in the last 3-4 vegan. why? the influence of friends, personal health, the environment and animals - and probably in that order. However, since becoming veg and taking off the blindfold of ignorance the plight of animals has become much more of a concern for me so the ethics are playing a much bigger part these days.. I'm always keen for an 'arty'-type film, a bicycle ride or discovering a new veggie restaurant so drop me a line if you're in or around London.. word Ash

Guest guest
I live near the Tower Bridge actually, my 3rd 'permanent' address since moving here (5 months ago!). Yeah it'd be nice to go out sometime so drop a line when you're coming in. NZ for veg*ns? I think NZ is OK for veg*ns in the larger urban centres, could be a little tough elsewhere I guess but it is such a sparsely populated country and there's nothing stopping one having their own organic garden.. the Hare Krishna restaurant in Queen St, Auckland (where I'm from) served all you could eat including a semolina dessert for NZ$6 (£1.50) including a glass of apple juice, Miam!! there are a growing number of vege/vegan cafes in the urban centres. Nope no partner at the moment.. and I don't think I'd date a non-veg*n again. I feel quite strongly about veggiedom, and it has slotted into place as one of the cornerstones to my outlook on life (where I think it was a logical development of my existing values). I couldn't imagine being able to fully 'connect' with someone who didn't appreciate the importance. I guess there is always the potential for conversion but I don't think it's wise to presuppose that somebody is 'convertible'. Tramping?? oh, well perhaps it's what you'd call hiking over here? after the 1st half hour I guess it's more like 'trudging' So now how do I get to find out about everyone else in here?
