Guest guest
> Really? Why is this? > Which ones are vegan? Hi Robbie I got this from the Vegan Society website... Condoms are usually made from latex. However, they may also be made using lambskin or natural skin (sheep intestines). The latter two do not protect against HIV or any other virus. Although not present in the finished product, both Durex and Mates condoms utilise casein, a milk protein, during processing. Mates also use a non-fat dry milk powder. Mates and Durex do not test their spermicidal lubricants on animals. The only vegan condoms we are aware of are made by Condomi. These contain no animal by-products, and have involved no animal testing. They are available in 8 varieties (Supersafe, Strong, Nature, Fruit Flavoured, Extra Large, Mix, Noppy and Hand-Painted Fun) and can be obtained from selected retail outlets, the Family Planning Association, Superdrug, Asda and by mail order from Condomi on +44 (0)20 7277 6630. Quote 'The Vegan Society' and Condomi will donate 15% of your order value to the Society. > Not really an issue for me right now, but would be nice to know... Same here, although I have got some just in case. They expire in 2003 so I've still got time. ;-) Hope this helps sue
