Guest guest
> Why are you such a b!tch to me, what did I ever do to you?? Is there really any need to be like this with each other? We've already had a few flame wars on here already but what did they achieve? Anyway talking of kids, Lesley and Mertle you're both pregnant right? Firstly, congratulations, how wonderful that you are giving your kids a great start in life-to be brought up vegan!! Secondly, how are you finding your pregnancies? Have you been given any crap by doctors, family members etc. Do you have any children already? Also, is there any advice you can give me on vegan pregnancies, not that i'm planning on having kids any time soon, i just want to be prepared, just in case my vegan condoms don't work!! Guest guest
I`d love to blame my mental ness on my pregnancy, all the hormones rushing about n`all but I wont.... I think it`s kinda hard to really know people just by being on these networks..I enjoy reading and contributing I just think that sometimes people DO go mental at one another for whatever reason, I don't not like Lesley, and I didn't`t really mean to hurt her feelings (if I did)I just meant to say what I was thinking and maybe I should`have worded it better. >Anyway talking of kids, Lesley and Mertle you're both pregnant right? >Firstly, congratulations, how wonderful that you are giving your >kids a great start in life-to be brought up vegan!! I am 5 months pregnant and have a little boy who is 2 years old. >Secondly, how are you finding your pregnancies? This pregnancy is seeming a lot easier than my last...but that's probably because I turned into a whale with my first..I got up to 19 stone by the 40th week..aaaaargh...he turned out to be 11lb in weight too...ouch! Don't suppose anyone here has sent their kids to a Steiner School?...we will be sending ours there when the time comes. mertle _______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. No problems with any doctors about us being vegan, we have been lucky in that respect, although we were struck off for refusing to allow the doctor to vaccinate our son when he was about two months old. I went to the local paper and they did a very sympathetic article, including interviewing Magda Taylor from the Informed Parent group, and she also lives in Harrow. I didn't talk to the papers about the vegan aspect, just the worry about the dangers of vaccinations. Don't ever be afraid to expose bullies to the media if they give you crap about anything vegan-related. I'm not a good example of healthy living in some ways because I do have a tendency to eat too much vegan junk food although I keep away from many poisonous things like cigarette smoke, even when I'm not pregnant, so that's as much for myself as for the baby. I am happy that as a vegan I am at low risk of toxoplasmosis (which causes birth defects, and is often caught from meat-eating), and I will remind the doctors of that fact if any of them tell me I shouldn't be vegan. I am not afraid to stick up for myself and I will remind them that they should respect people's ethical and religious beliefs if they say anything against me being vegan, but I don't expect any trouble over it, although hospital staff are usually pretty clueless, they aren't usually disrespectful. Maybe I have been lucky, I have heard many vegan mothers who experience prejudice. I've always put on a lot of weight in pregnancy, but my blood pressure stays steady every time, so I don't expect any big problems, apart from needing help with the birth itself (it's the way I'm made, I can't do it completely naturally). I'm almost 4 months pregnant now, and still haven't been to the doc, will go soon, but feeling OK and not quite as much pregnancy sickness now. I don't want all sorts of fuss over testing, so I'm putting off going as long as I can. I'm not having the rubella antibody test for instance because of what they do to day old chicks for that test. I declined several of the test due to the way they are carried out but was told by a family member who is a nurse that they do all the tests anyway, with the patients concent or not. Grimm, but there you have it. mertle _______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
