Guest guest
It was interesting to read your post about doctors being OK about you and you families veganism Lesley, but then you got struck off their list over vaccine refusal. I have had no hassel, although I avoid going to the doctors like I would avoid the plague. Being a vegan when I was pregnant received much praise by various midwives for me when I was pregnant. One midwife asked me if I had a healthy diet. I just said, well, yes, I am a vegan. She said, oh you must be much healthier than me. Thanks to a healthy diet, I was rewarded with a very easy pregnancy too. Vaccinations on the other hand have generally evoked a different response from the medical profession, for me also. My own GP hasn't given me any hassel, and hence we remain on his list (he's a sweetie, although he's so popular you can never get to see him). Amazingly he actually asked me if I had thought about vaccinations when my son was one week old (obviously suspecting that I would have thought about various implications). Apart from that I have experience a great deal of hostility from other doctors, who seem to imply that I am being very irresponsible and clueless, not acting as the informed parent that I am. Oh by the way, good luck with your pregnancy Lesley. I am really pleased that you make steps to avoid unecessary interference with the barrage of test that the medical proffesion seem to insist on. I feel comforted in the knowlege that nature provides women with everything they need for a healthy pregnancy.
