Guest guest
Let me reiterate. You are teaching theoretical knowledge to you children. All kids debate theoretic knowledge at some point, an example would be the school child who complains to their maths teacher, " there's no point in learning this, there's no use " . Most math teacher don't have industrial experience and so can't counter that response with a practical example. What will your child respond to his peer when his peer asks. " how can you say that when you've never tried it? " " Your mums never tried it! " " go one, just try it once, then you can say you've tried it and you'll know " . It's the appeal to the human condition of Pandora's box. When it comes to drugs, people don't take them to harm themselves, that can just be a symptom. People take drugs for a multitude of reasons. I'm not attacking you as a parent, just trying to explain the difference between theory and practise. The best way to stop you kids taking soft drugs is to influence their peers yourself. Even that's no guarantee. The very fact so many people disagree with your stance should show you you're not seeing both sides. You kid most probably will. I can even see your side. At best it's theoretical and naive. PS There's nothing wrong with the word " naive " ;D
Guest guest
My dad was a smoker. When he told me I shouldn't smoke I told him he was a hypocrite and not in a position to tell me what to do .however I listened to my non smoking mother's advice because she set the example .Angie - " Mccartney, Rowan (R.N.)
