Guest guest
I am a female with an engineering background. I have a bachelor's in engineering. I left the field. I think most of the causes for lack of women in engineering are societal. I also minored in women's studies, and learned why in jr. high all the girls disappeared from the fast track math courses. Say you're fourteen and your hormones raging and you need peer acceptance like nothing else. Society tells you that no members of the sex to which you're attracted " like " you because you're a math nerd. What happens? You tone it down. Maybe develop a block. And you suddenly have dates. I saw it happen a lot. Some girls stick with the math and science. I did. But they don't go into engineering. It's a terrible place to be a woman. I spent two summers interning with an aerospace engineering firm, and I was miserable, surrounded by all these old white men with narrow, sexist minds. I'm going for my master's in geography now, to get away from all that. I think a lot of women have the skills, but prefer to apply them differently. Guest guest
I try to do it as much as possible. They have a fairly robust belief system, with the exception of their phobias of mushrooms (they grow in the dark) and pungent foods (onion, garlic etc). It helps my Jitsu to. My GF does more of it than me. gph [g.p.h] 29 May 2001 12:15 vegan-network Re: Rowan > I was inspired by Rowan, and am now on the yogic diet for a week. Rowan, are you a yogic? Guest guest
There are 100's of benefits. But you only notice them once you've changed diet. You probably wouldn't believe how many things you had wrong with you.
