Lesley, I used to feel the same way that Sara did but after learning about the benefits of bringing vegan children in the world and hearing about people's kids on places like here and veganfamily.co.uk, I've changed my mind. The idea of having children, used to freak me out but I forgot that they would be vegan which would make them easier to handle as they would probably be more calmer and nicer. Ash-I'm up for a polygamous relationship-when can we start?!!! ;-) Suz

It's normal to change your mind, whether that happens when you are quite young or a little older. Sara might think she won't change but it just might hit her suddenly in her thirties sometime. I've heard this is very common. > > The idea of having children, used to freak me out but I forgot that > they would be vegan which would make them easier to handle as they > would probably be more calmer and nicer. > Don't bet on being vegan meaning that they will automatically be placid, mine are quite a handful sometimes, even when they don't have coca-cola. It might be different for you if you are the placid type yourself though. Mine are probably a little too much like me. I don't want anyone to think all vegan kids are always well-behaved, in many ways they are like any other kids. Wherever you live when you have them, some peer support with other vegan families (or at least vegetarians) always helps. Guest guest
Suzy, hmm I think I will need to find a monogamous relationship before we can make it polygamous ;-) suzy.grayson Wed, 23 May 2001 13:02:49 -0000 vegan-network Re: population ethics > This is why I refuse to let Sara's comments make me feel like a bad > vegan for having children.
