They used to call me carrot in college!! > I hate being called a name (vegan) just because of something we >don't eat (meat, dairy etc), don't you? It's a good point, one I've never really thought about b4. I suppose the fact that we are actually vegetarians but have to call ourselves vegans because lacto-ovo veggies use it, annoys me!! My mum thinks its funny to call me vorgan-you know the green aliens on HitchHikers? > How long have you been vegan for? 20 months. This probably sounds sad, but for my first anniversary last year, my friend cooked me a nice meal to celebrate. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do this year though!! How about you, and what made you make the change? > Do you have any vegan friends? Yeah, I have quite a lot. Most of them are around the country but I do have a few where a live. I've actually made quite a lot of mates on here, a few of whom I'm hoping to meet up with soon!! I'm gonna arrange a get-together in London in the Summer, but only hunky, single males are allowed!!(Only joking!!) You're welcome to come along if you can make it! Guest guest
Suzy It's doesn't matter if you turned vegan yesterday I don't think it's sad, it's good. 20 months as a vegan, that's longer than me, I've only been vegan for 3 months. I first came across veganism (or how to be a real human being) when I was studying buddhism I'm not a buddhist or anything, I was just interested. I asked the question should humans eat meat?. Just out of the blue to my mum, and while looking at a buddhist website there was an article about humans eating meat??? So I read on and it explained everything about why we shouldn't consume animal products. So for spiritual and moral reasons are also why I became vegan. Anyway I am a single male... speak to you soon Graham - <suzy.grayson <vegan-network > Thursday, May 24, 2001 16:07 Howdy dowdy! > > > James is just me Alias, Graham is my real name. > > They used to call me carrot in college!! > > > I hate being called a name (vegan) just because of something we > >don't eat (meat, dairy etc), don't you? > > It's a good point, one I've never really thought about b4.
