Guest guest
Does anyone know of a way to get rid of mice? I have tried everything that has so far been suggested to me.That includes deterents such as peppermint oil, cayenne pepper, filling gaps with steel wool. They don't let that put them off coming in and eating all my lovely home baking! I have tried a humane trap, but it was rubbish. Well, one of them went for the peanut butter inside it, but judging by the teethmarks on the outside, the little bugger got one of it's 'mates to help him out! Too smart for that! I've caught them in a large bucket and took them a long walk, but they just come back again. I've even asked them politely if they would just leave, but I just got a strange look and they just carried on with what they were doing! I can't play even play 'The Beatles' any more cos for some reason when I play them, they come dancing accross the room! I guess I wouldn't mind them staying there rent free, eating my food and loo roll, but I do not like my bed or work surfaces being used for a toilet and the little darlings often keep me awake at night. I think they think cos I'm vegan I must be a pushover. Do you think they are taking the piss? HELP!!! My opinion is that to get rid of them you will have to make sure that all your food is way out of reach and in sealed containers so they can't get at it, small animals such as mice (and insects such as cockroaches) will go and stay wherever they can get an easy food supply I would think. It may be a case of being a little ruthless and starving them out since they are causing a hygiene problem. I am sure they are clever enough to move on before they starve to death, that's how they survive. You have to be strong and not look into their cute little faces and be tempted to let them eat your food, because that is why they like it there. Just shows it's a myth that mice like cheese. Obviously they like your vegan food just fine! Other possibility, instead of the Beatles, play them some of the tuneless rubbish out of today's pop charts, preferably ©rap such as Eminem, since they are obviously mice of quite discerning musical taste, that should send 'em packing double quick! Some horribly loud punk music might work equally well, but get yourself some earplugs first. Lesley

I have learned through experience to hide my food and I always make sure there are no dirty dishes or crumbs left lying about. But I find if they can't get to the food they just start on the wood, paper, plastic, washing powder and bleach bottles!? They're not too fussy. I don't have any neighbours they can go and annoy instead! >Just shows it's a myth that mice like cheese. Obviously they like >your vegan food just fine! Absolutely! Mind you, I don't know what would be worse-the constant scratching of 'the little darling rodents' or that persistent, annoying rubbish from Eminem! Earplugs would be good! Done that, but as my house is made of wood, it's so easy for them to make new holes. >c. somehow, get some cat smell into yer abode...mice don't like >predators.... I know someone that used to leave egg shells around the veg in the garden to stop snails from getting at them. Doubt u eat eggs, but I'm sure a neighbour wouldn't mind if u raked in their bin for a few!
