thanks for dropping by the vegan list.

Big cities in the US are great for vegans. All the wholeshops/cafes are

really aware of the dairy thing, presumably too afraid to be sued for

poisoning some lactose intolerant dieter. There are lots of hard core

vegans that look really like the ones here do, e.g. skinny, indy,

intelligent. lots of ethic places that are safe too. [ There is a Belgian

chips shop in New York that does vegan chips - or fries to American ].

Outside of the cities it can be hell though. Football pitched sized

supermarkets with nothing to eat in them. No real food at all, everyting

chemicalised. Corn chips [ i.e. crisps ] take the place of bagels more

readily but'll bring you out in bumps if you ate too many with all that

oil.

check out www.veggiedining.com for starters and mains.

html does not work on the digest mode if you want to pictures, best stick

it on a server and send the URL.

May be we should start a rogues gallery?

In France, there is a chain called La Vie Claire, like an organic

stylish holland and Barrett. In Paris, a great Macrobiotic restaurant

just of St Germaine de Pres. Lots of independent stores and great fruit.

In Finland, there are many wholefood restaurants in Helsinki including

live food ones. Stockholm a little harder but similar to the UK. Germany

can be rough [ meat and two meat ] except where there are Rudolf Steiner

schools but Italy is great [ olive oil not butter/lots of veg and pasta

]. Austria you are on coffee and bagels.

Spain is tough again as all the chefs are so bull bollocks macho but in

Barcelona you could eat in a new veg restaurant every day for week. Very

well recommended, especially the macrobiotic ones. Fantastic city for a

veg*holiday, lots of local colour and its own underground arty music

scene.

Thanx for that, it's the last thing I'm reading before I get to bed.

I'm pretty tired and will reply properly in the morning. Lots of

greaat into there!

I code D3D mainly, but using other people's engines. I do some 2D

stuff also though. I'll try to get examples posted when I get a

second.
