Guest guest
Pure vegan places are very few and far between, most are veg*an that do some vegan stuff. I'd very much like to see more (or just any!) such places. I agree in part with what you said, this is my opinion on your situation: At the end of the day, if food is bought on the basis of it being vegan then the buyer has made an ethical choice wherever the thing was bought from. This will always be different then buying somthing 'nut free' because buying things wothout nuts is never an ethical stance, but purposefully buying vegan always is. The problem is the extent to which the choice's influence can ethically extend. Yes, buying vegan from ASDA will help alleviate animal suffereing a little, but will also be helping a company that invests heavily in animal exploitation. The ethics are no less there, but wheter you buy meat or humus at mainstream shops the end result is not so profound in terms of the good that it prompotes compared to if it was bought at a purely veg*an company. So the action of buying is no less moral in it'self, but the result of the purchase is very different. I'd love to have a veg*an cafe in my area that I don't have to get the train to visit. It'd make things a lot easier. Apart from the food and everything it'd also be a great way to meet other like minded people. So I'd love to hear that you decide to go for it. Where would it be anyway?
