Guest guest
>I've heard that since they were taken over by Nando's Chicken, >Cranks now has a policy of not employing vegans. I know several >vegans and vegetarians who left their employment in disgust at >this and other changes that were brought in. it is a bit like companies employing " Token Blacks " , " Token Asians " , " Token Women " etc. Essentially the same grey suited men window dressing their corporations to avoid criticism and financially damaging attack. it is insiduous. i have noticed the same trend in major wholefood shops where the direcotrate has realised that hippie, underground, alternative actually adds colour and sells. we/they are being used as marketing ploy. it is almost expected now... " very organic " . vegans are ultra cool hardcore commodities for them to have, believe me. it makes me laugh because for so many years and for so many jobs that i am far beyond being qualified and capable of being employed i have barred because of the way that i look. [ waist length plait/braid and totally allergic to collars and ties - i dont even own any ]. thankfully a whole underworld industry has grown up from through the arts to the internet via fashion that really does not give a damn and judges you by what you can do not look like. but it was tough at times. it makes you realise that at the end of the day it is worth owning yourself and not wearing a collar and *leash* as they would want you to. down boy! good doggie! john
