Guest guest
That's amazing. But for the yang to your ying, check out the Canadian governments policy on milk. And I quote http://www.milk.org/nutfaq2.htm#q33 " For every 1 gram of protein we eat, we lose only 1 mg of calcium. Milk and milk products have substantially more calcium than protein. For example, one 250 mL glass of milk contains 315 mg of calcium but only about 9 grams of protein. Any small losses of calcium which might occur are more than compensated for. " The average Canadian consumes the equivalent of about 1.6 to 2 cups of milk daily, less than what " Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating " recommends. Almost 1/2 of Canadian women consume less than the recommended 2-4 servings of Milk and Milk Products. " Inhabitants of Canada don't enjoy the benefit of winter-time vitamin D production via sunlight. The use of sunscreen when outdoors is a further impediment to vitamin D production. " " Ice & snow are prevalent in Canada; and slipping and falling increase the likelihood of hip fractures, a major criterion to express incidence of osteoporosis. " " The structure of the hip (primarily the femoral neck) is different in non-whites, especially in Asian women providing a resistance to hip fracture not found in people of northern European decent. " " People in western countries live longer than those in developing countries, and a longer lifespan increases the lifelong likelihood of developing osteoporosis. " -Last time I checked 1 gram equalled a 1000mg. Where's the study this came from?

Ash That's a possibility. But then we must have been sharp in the first place to choose a vegan diet!
