DOM -Have nt been to any veggie places in area-know that there is a

restuarant in Handsworth Wood (is that as rough as Handsworth??)

called Rogan s which is supposed to cater for vegans as well as the

dairy consuming relatives ,there is a vegeterian indian place

somewhere. Have you been to the one earth shop on alison street round

the corner from Latif s???have heard it s vegan

apart from that i do not know!!have nt been here(walsall) v long (8

months)lived in bristol before that as well as canterbury tottenham

slough etc in past two years...

are there any other vegans in the area?

g barr-that s where the harvester is??notice them cos used to work in

one(B.V.)i must add!

re:hunger it feels like burning to me the only way i can get thru the

day without over eating is to tell myself i m going to detox/drink

only juice few days after have control as well but then it all goes

to pot..food sensualist me..v bad or is it my parents f**ked me up

ingraining into me that you have to eat 3 times a day and finish

everything on the plate...god this is turning into a therapy session.

Actually I did know about Rogans, had forgotten about that one. I'm

not entirely sure exactly where it is... Handsworth Wood is not as

rough as Handsworth, but its a bit dubious round the edges, some of

seems OK. Some friends of mine lived there while at Aston Uni, and

had a couple of scary nutter incidents there! Perhaps its worth a

day time investigation!!

Am further in towards Bham than the Harvester, am about 10 mins walk

from Scott Arms, towards Birmingham.

Don't think I've been to the shop on Alison St, is it the Friends of

the Earth place down there cos thats where Warehouse Cafe is?

I know the sum total of zero vegans, apart from my parents... Doesn't

do my sanity much good, as a lot of my friends are carnivorous which

is a little annoying, a couple are veggies though. They've learnt

not to " debate " veganism with me any more, because I don't set out to

lose such debate!!

I think the Indian place (another one I'd forgotten about...and I've

never eaten beef either) is at Five Ways roundabout (where you fall

off Broad Street), dot know if its any good. I know its veg, and

with it being curry can't see vegan being a problem...I would hope.

> WOW!!! Are u a life vegan then????

Nope... was a life veggie until 1997. Went vegan when I started at

Aston Uni. My parents went vegan about 3 years before that, having

been veg since 1973 (pre dating me by 6 years!).

One of the best things I've done I reckon.
