Guest guest
Yep, sarcasm is also quite an effective option as well... Dom > " I eat Tofu 3 times a day, 6 days a week... except on Sunday when I eat a > bale of hay " . No more question garneted.
Guest guest
Hey peoples, this gives me an idea... what do people think is the most constructive approach to take when being queried about our veganism? these are perhaps some of our best opportunities to make a 'convert' so what works best? what kind of questions/answers can help people see what we're about best, without creating too much of an 'us and them' situation and reinforcing the common belief that all vegans are confrontational and serious? also, is a confrontational/judgemental approach likely to positively influence a non-vegan to consider veganism? Whether or not its people trying to deflect the subject away from the fact that they have a guilty conscious (although I reckon a lot don't have one) I don't know. There's a couple of people who are going to say the plant sentence to me once too often... I don't bother answering it, not worth it. The next most annoying question has to be " what do you eat then? " ...nobody who has asked me that has been able to answer " describe everything you eat in a sentence? " .... Anyway, enough ranting.... Guest guest
I am constantly asked that question and it also drives me nuts I just hand out loads of sarcasm. By the way I am a Saggitarius. I am ne to the group, 28 years old and mother to a 2 year old vegetarian. When I tell people that she's a veggie they practically accuse me of child abuse am I'm getting sick of it. My own family argued with me about my choice for the baby but are now convinced that her diet fulfils her needs. She is highly intelligent very healthy and does not suffer with constant colds unlike my nephew who is fed on burgers and crap. Guest guest
If you would like me to talk to your family I will gladly do so. 21 yrs old (soonish)- and erm... 21 yrs of being vegan. Shove that in the 'Is the diet suitable?' book. Andy > I am constantly asked that question and it also drives me nuts I just hand >out loads of sarcasm. By the way I am a Saggitarius.
