Guest guest
I`m always being asked the good old vegan questions,I think it`s best to voice opinions on veganism,we need to be vocal on this,we may even get some converts....you never know.... A colleague asked me today whether I would bring up any future children as vegan or vegetarian,I replied that I would, she thought this was unfair as I would be deciding for them.Surely giving a child meat, eggs, etc. is also deciding for them when they are not fully aware of what they are eating?? As for entering the dark side and falling in love with a carnivore,I too have this same problem.I really like this bloke, very alternative looking and gorgeous!!!Anyway,he wants to start seeing me,What`s the answer??? At the moment I am resisting, hard though it is...I was reminded of my principles by my parents. It could never work anyway, romantic meals, how could they happen?!!!!!! Totally changing the subject, has anyone found any decent vegan cheese,I haven`t!!!

They can choose later if they want to eat animals, but at least if you have kids they can't accuse you of making them unwilling accessories to murder, which can be said for parents who feed their kids on animal products. I would definitely voice the opinion that it is the onmi parents who are being unfair. > > As for entering the dark side and falling in love with a carnivore,I > too have this same problem.I really like this bloke, very alternative > looking and gorgeous!!!Anyway,he wants to start seeing me,What`s the > answer??? As for him looking gorgeous - well sorry to state the obvious but that is only skin deep with most people, especially if they eat animals. But have you discussed your ethics with him? Is he in agreement with you but just needing the support himself to make that change? There may be a slim chance, so maybe you should DISCUSS it with him and try to find out and then forget him if he is too selfish and lacking in compassion. If he doesn't agree, there is no future if you want kids and want them raised vegan, because a non-vegan dad will undermine your efforts at every opportunity by giving them a mixed message. > > Totally changing the subject, has anyone found any decent vegan > cheese,I haven`t!!! I really like Scheese, but my husband prefers Cheezly and Vegie Kaas (I find it a bit revolting when it melts). I also like the soft vegan cheese Fromsoya, especially horseradish flavour. Lesley - puzzled as to how so many women are being so easily tempted to date meat-eaters, because I was so definite that I would only meet Mr Right through AR or a veggie/vegan group. I wasn't left in any doubt either as to where meat came from, I get the impression that a lot of kids are kept in the dark by their meat eating parents. And, left with the choice I stopped veggie and eventually went vegan almost 4 years ago. Interestingly my brother has remained veggie, I can't see him going vegan at the moment - he won't even talk about the subject!! Dom

Sounds a lot like my situation... I *really* hope it isn't the same guy! If I'm any kind of example (which is far from certain), then I would say go for it. I've been thinking about it, and although veganism is a very important part of my life, it's not my whole life... If you really care about someone you should give it a chance at least. > It could never work > anyway, romantic meals, how could they happen?!!!!!! Well, you could always cook/buy him a nice veg*n dinner - it might even make him more interested in our way of life! Mog
