Experts from Denmark say proteins must be consumed soon after exercise to promote muscle growth. A glass of skimmed milk should be taken after exercise because protein is absorbed more quickly when the level of fat is low. PhD student Birgitte Esmarck, from the Muscle Research Centre at Bispebjerg Hospital, says: " Cacao skimmed milk is even better because the sugar helps the body produce more insulin hormones which are important for building up muscles. Sugar alone is better than nothing, but we don't believe it is as good as protein. " The research looked at muscle development in men after weight training, and will be published in The British Journal of Physiology. You listening Ash??
